What to expect...

This workshop explores the fascinating craft of extracting colours from the plant world. We will be delving into the magic of bundle dyeing, where you will learn how to pre-treat and mordant fabric whilst I guide you in exploring this technique on plant-based silk. Decorate your scarves with delicate dried petals and gathered leaves, before bundling them into the steamer to achieve your dreamy dyed delights. The textile artwork you make is perfect for gifting to a loved one or adding a little petal poetry to your wardrobe. This is a practical and playful workshop to spark your curiosity as you begin your natural dye journey. The plant materials available for these sessions are seasonal.. In winter we work with oak galls and eucalyptus leaves. All materials will be provided, including complimentary herbal infusion as a refreshment.
